Head of Growth Marketing, PLG

About the role

ABOUT CODERABBIT CodeRabbit is the leading AI code review platform, trusted by more than 17,000 customers and 150,000 open-source projects, conducting over 2 million code reviews each week. We build the symbiotic partnership between developers and AI that makes shipping fast software safe again, reviewing every pull request, IDE change, and CLI commit so teams can move quickly without breaking things.   We are a fast-moving, well-funded company, fresh off a $143M Series C at a $1.5B valuation — building Agentic Change Management, the control layer for software changes created by humans and agents. As AI writes more of the world's code, the bottleneck moves from implementation to judgment and helping human judgment scale is exactly the problem we exist to solve. Location: San Francisco Bay Area - Hybrid Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer CodeRabbit helps engineering teams review code with higher signal, stronger context, and less drag on the pull-request workflow. As AI-generated code increases, the bottleneck moves downstream — teams still need to catch risk, understand intent, and merge with confidence. We're hiring a Head of Growth Marketing, PLG to own the self-serve motion that's already showing real traction. Twenty-five percent of our revenue is already self-serve — developers and engineers are finding CodeRabbit, adopting it, and paying for it on their own. This role is about scaling what's working. You'll own how individual developers discover, activate, and convert — managing all paid channels and leading a team of media planners and creatives to maximize both volume and efficiency across the self-serve funnel. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the full self-serve / PLG growth motion — from acquisition strategy to channel execution to funnel optimization. - Manage all paid acquisition channels: search, display, social, sponsorships, and emerging channels — with clear targets for volume, efficiency, and CAC. - Build and optimize direct-to-developer and direct-to-consumer acquisition programs that drive signups, activation, and conversion. - Lead and develop a team of media planners and creatives, setting a high bar for quality and performance. - Define the metrics that matter — CAC, LTV, ROAS, activation rates — and use them to make better investment decisions. - Partner with Product and Engineering on growth experiments, onboarding improvements, and conversion opportunities. - Identify and test new acquisition channels before they become obvious. - Translate channel performance into clear business outcomes for senior leadership. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 8+ years in growth marketing or paid acquisition leadership, including ownership of a company-level self-serve or PLG growth number. - Deep experience running direct-to-consumer and/or direct-to-developer acquisition programs at scale. - Proven track record managing all paid channels — search, display, social, sponsorships — with measurable results. - Experience leading a team of media planners and creatives. - Strong analytical mindset — you optimize with data, not instinct, and you can prove it. - Ability to balance volume and efficiency simultaneously — you know when to scale and when to cut. - Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up where you've had to build while running. NICE TO HAVE - Experience marketing technical products to developers or engineering teams. - Familiarity with developer tools, AI infrastructure, or the modern software development lifecycle. - Experience taking a product from strong organic pull to a mature multi-channel acquisition engine. What success looks like - More developers and engineering teams are finding CodeRabbit through repeatable, scalable acquisition channels. - Paid programs are running efficiently with clear attribution and improving unit economics over time. - The self-serve funnel converts faster, with a clearer path from first touch to activated user. - Growth decisions are grounded in cohort behavior, channel economics, and real customer evidence. - The team is high-performing, well-developed, and operating with a clear playbook. CodeRabbit is building for a world where more code is written by agents, but accountability still belongs to engineering teams. If you want to own the growth motion that helps that market discover and adopt the product, we'd like to hear from you. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS CodeRabbit has meaningful momentum across both PLG and enterprise. This role will help turn that momentum into a disciplined, scalable enterprise growth engine—creating demand, improving conversion, and making CodeRabbit the obvious choice for engineering leaders at the world's most ambitious companies. CodeRabbit is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to building an inclusive team.
