Founding Technical Recruiter

About the role

ABOUT VITALIZE Our Vision: Unlock Healthcare's Full Capacity Health systems still run critical operations like staffing, labor planning, and capacity on spreadsheets, phone calls, and guesswork. Vitalize is building the AI operating system for how health systems manage labor and capacity. The impact is real: we save hospitals millions in unnecessary labor spend, give clinical leaders back 10–20 hours every week, and are often the reason staff and leaders stay. We’re trusted by leading health systems across the country and have raised more than $31M from top healthcare and technology investors, including our own customers.. OUR VALUES We hire and grow everyone against the same four values. Each one comes from a real Vitalize story—interview with us to hear them! - 🚗 Push the Car. Step in regardless of role. We help wherever we're needed, own problems end to end, and don't stay in our lane. People can count on us. - 🏥 Premier 1K. We show up for our customers, always. Nearly everyone visits a customer site in their first month, and customer feedback informs everything we do. - 🗣️ Run Towards the Ugly. Name the ugliest truth first, then propose the fix. Candor over comfort—we call out what's broken, and never get complacent. This shapes our craft. - 💡 Think Bigger Fridays. See the gap, fill it—no permission required. Every decision is an experiment: we run it, let the results decide, and drive real impact from day one. ABOUT VITALIZE'S TALENT TEAM The Talent Team will determine how quickly Vitalize scales and how much impact we can have on healthcare. Every great hire helps us deploy faster, build better products, serve more hospitals, and ultimately improve the way care is delivered. We're building what we believe will become one of the best talent teams in the world. We don't believe great recruiting starts with a job description; it starts with deeply understanding our customers, the problems we're solving, and the teams we're building. Our recruiters sit in on customer calls, travel to customer sites, partner closely with hiring teams, and immerse themselves in the business so they can recruit with credibility. As one of our founding recruiters, you'll help build our talent function from the ground up and shape how Vitalize hires for years to come. THE ROLE We're looking for a founding Technical Recruiter to build the engineering, product, and design teams that will define Vitalize's future. You'll partner directly with our engineering and product leadership to identify, attract, and close exceptional technical talent. This isn't about filling open reqs; it's about building one of the highest-performing technical organizations in healthcare technology. You know what the top 1% of technical talent looks like. You understand how exceptional engineers think, where they spend their time, and how to build relationships that ultimately turn into hires. You believe recruiting is a competitive advantage, not an administrative function, and you know how to find and convince world-class talent to join an ambitious mission. This is a builder role. You'll help shape how we recruit technical talent at Vitalize, from sourcing strategy and interview design to talent branding and recruiting systems that scale with the company. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build our technical talent function from zero to one—own full-cycle recruiting across Engineering, Product, and Design while acting as the guardian of Vitalize's technical hiring bar - Partner deeply with engineering leaders to understand what exceptional talent looks like for each role - Build world-class talent pipelines through thoughtful sourcing, market mapping, referrals, networking, and long-term relationship building - Develop a deep understanding of the technical talent landscape. You know where exceptional engineers spend their time, how to earn their attention, and how to build relationships long before there's an open role - Become an expert in the teams you support. Attend engineering planning meetings, product reviews, and customer conversations to understand the problems we're solving so you can recruit with credibility - Continuously improve how we hire. You're a natural tinkerer who loves testing sourcing strategies, recruiting technology, interview design, and hiring processes to make recruiting more effective every week - Raise the quality of our hiring by influencing interview decisions, challenging assumptions, and ensuring every hire strengthens the organization WHAT YOU'LL BRING - Technical recruiting experience—You have 7+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience in high-growth startups or technology companies - Elite sourcing ability—You understand that the best technical talent rarely applies inbound. You know where exceptional people come from, build thoughtful and aggressive sourcing strategies, and consistently identify, engage, and close difficult-to-reach candidates - Strong technical curiosity—You don't need to be an engineer, but you enjoy learning how great engineering organizations operate and can credibly engage technical candidates and hiring managers - Executive-level partnership—You're comfortable partnering with founders and engineering leaders, challenging hiring decisions when appropriate, and protecting a consistently high hiring bar - A builder's mindset—You thrive in ambiguity, improve systems without being asked, and create recruiting processes that scale as the company grows - High agency—You don't wait for direction. You identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and proactively move searches forward - Curiosity about the business—You want to deeply understand our customers, our product, and the technical problems we're solving because you know great recruiting starts with great understanding BENEFITS - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company match - Flexible PTO - Unlimited travel budget to visit customer sites - Twice-yearly company off-sites - Free meals in the office - $5,000 relocation bonus for eligible employees - Desk setup reimbursement - Commuter benefits - Monthly gym/wellness stipend - An awesome office in Jackson Square, steps from the water
