Why this role exists
Aeon raised $14M Seed on 14 Sept 2026Unverified. This role went up 22 days later.
At Aeon, we design, build, and test modular weapon systems for ground and air platforms. We take pride in our dynamic and small team that allows us to iterate, build and test quickly. If you are looking to solve hard technical problems with a team of passionate engineers in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, Aeon is the place for you. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Actuation, you'll own electromechanical subsystems on our tactical missile platform. The near-term work is maturing an existing design: carrying it through qualification, finalizing it for the production environment, and closing out the problems that only surface once you're building at rate. Once that design is locked, you'll lead clean sheet actuation and motion control work on future programs. This is a small team, so the scope is wide. You'll size the hardware, build the test stands, run the tests, write the reports, and then advocate for the design changes you think it needs. This is a full-time, in-person role in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.
