Clinical Supervisor - Virginia

About the role

Overview Allswell is building the leading mental health services company for the LGBTQIA+ community. Affirming, high-quality care for this population is hard to find and harder to afford. We are addressing that need with a diverse team of clinicians trained in LGBTQIA+-affirming practices and specialty care, digital tools that make our clinicians more effective, and insurance coverage that puts real care within reach. The clinical outcomes are strong and the growth is fast. Since launching we have served hundreds of clients across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, in-network with Medicaid and major commercial plans in all three regions. 71% of clients report reduced depression (based on PHQ-9 scores) and 77% report reduced anxiety (based on GAD-7 scores) after 60 or more days of care. We are expanding our services and footprint quickly, and building the team to match. Backed by leading healthcare and impact investors, we have the runway to do it right.   Our Clinical Model Our care model uses gold standard approaches to address the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Developed with leading clinical experts in trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+ care, it pairs affirming, evidence-based treatment with proprietary tools that extend care beyond the session. A stand out among them is our Trauma Journal, a structured Written Exposure Therapy-inspired tool that supports clients with trauma-related presenting concerns between visits and deepens the impact of their therapy work. This is what allows our clinicians to deliver the outcomes above, and it is a core part of what makes practicing at Allswell different.   About the Role Due to our high client demand, we’re scaling our clinical team and seeking experienced board-approved supervisors to support our talented associate clinicians. A dual license across MD and VA is highly preferred. In this role, you will provide individual and group clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, ensuring high standards of care, ethical compliance, and deep alignment with LGBTQIA+-affirming methodologies. This is a fully remote part-time role at 20 hours expected per week - we are flexible in hiring either a W2 (employee) or 1099 (contractor). 20 hours per week will consist of a supervisee caseload of 20-24 therapists (with the expectation of individual supervision 2x/month), with the remaining hours being filled with 1-2 supervision groups per week, and a small client caseload to stay relevant and connected to the work of your supervisees.   What You'll Do - Clinical supervision: provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision to associate clinicians (LGPC, LMSW, Resident in Counseling, etc.). - Assessment & documentation: review and sign off on clinical documentation, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes in compliance with state board regulations and payor requirements. - Clinical leadership: guide supervisees in clinical best practices surrounding LGBTQIA+ mental health, including gender-affirming care, trauma-informed practices, minority stress model application, and family/relationship dynamics. - Risk management: support associates during clinical crises and high-risk client evaluations. - Care quality: collaborate with Allswell leadership on clinical quality assurance, associate development, and state board licensing tracking. - Direct client care: carry a small caseload at Allswell to stay relevant and connected to supervisees.   Who You Are - Licensure: - Active, unrestricted independent clinical license in Maryland (LCPC, LCSW-C) OR Virginia (LPC, LCSW). - Formal Board-Approved Supervisor status with the relevant board in your licensing state(s), qualifying you to supervise associate-level clinicians in your profession (social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy). - Clinical expertise: minimum 2 years of experience providing direct clinical supervision. - Cultural competence: demonstrated experience and clinical mastery in LGBTQIA+ mental health concerns, gender-affirming care protocols, and intersectional identity frameworks. What We'd Love to See - Dual licensure in both Maryland and Virginia (LCPC/LPC or LCSW-C/LCSW or LCMFT/LMFT). - Experience delivering tele-supervision within a digital health or multi-state group practice. - Experience serving clients at the intersections of the LGBTQ+ community, including BIPOC and neurodivergent clients. - Familiarity with a range of evidence-based modalities, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or CPT. Why You'll Like Working at Allswell - The mission: we are building the definitive mental health company for the LGBTQ+ community, and the work changes clients' lives. - Career growth: clear pathway to shift into a Full-Time W2 role with health benefits as our team expands. - Licensure support: licensure expansion assistance (financial support for adding additional state licenses). - Fair pay: competitive hourly rates for supervision and administrative duties. - Flexible scheduling: set your own hours, fully remote. - Clinical growth: ongoing training in LGBTQ+-affirming models and free courses to earn CE credits. - The model: an expert-built, best-in-class clinical model with proprietary tools that extend care beyond the session. - The team: a queer-led, clinician-led company that takes the work seriously and holds a high clinical bar.
