Why this role exists
Conveo raised $50M Series A on 2 Sept 2026. This role went up 20 days later.
👋 HEY! WE'RE CONVEO.AI Conveo is a Y Combinator-backed company in an active growth period. We started this year as a team of ~20 and are on track to reach ~120 people by year end. The people who join now have an outsized chance to shape how this company is built. We raised a $50M Series A led by DST Global, giving us the fuel to move even faster. We’re investing in our product, growing an exceptional team, and taking on bigger challenges as we enter our next stage of growth. The engineering team is small and deliberately so. There are no product managers, no designer handoffs, no tickets waiting for someone else to prioritise. Engineers own the full distance from customer problem to working software, and that proximity to the product is exactly what makes this role interesting. You'll report directly to one of our engineering leads, and work incredibly closely with our CTO, Maarten. Global brands like Unilever, Google, and Orange use our AI video interviewer to generate insights across marketing, and product teams. Traditional research is slow, expensive, and superficial. Running it well requires expertise most teams don't have. That gap affects how well companies understand their customers and how well they can serve them. We're closing it. WHAT YOU'LL DO We need a Senior Product Engineer who works backwards from the experience. This is someone who starts with the user's problem, not a spec, and owns everything between that conversation and the code that ships. You shape what gets built, actively contributing to product direction, influencing what we build and how we build it, with real technical and strategic impact. Own the full stack, from the interface to the infrastructure Build the interface customers open every day and can't imagine working without. React is the core of what customers see and touch — you lead frontend architecture in React and TypeScript, set the quality bar for components, state management, and performance. And you don't stop there. From API design to cloud infrastructure (AWS), you ship complete, polished features end to end, including AI-powered ones built on LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and async pipelines. Be the engineering voice in every customer conversation When a customer has a need, an engineer hears it, interprets it, and solves it. You join customer calls (about once a week), form a clear point of view on what to build, translate feedback into scoped product decisions, and follow through. Use AI throughout You reach for agentic solutions first. You use AI to reason, build, review, and test at every stage and you help raise the bar for how the whole team works. Documentation overhead doesn't slow us down here — AI handles that layer, and you're someone who is happy to work that way. You stay current on what frontier models can do and bring that into what we ship. WHAT YOU'LL BRING - 6+ years of experience building full-stack applications with TypeScript and Node.js. - Strong backend experience: designing APIs, working with PostgreSQL, and managing background jobs and async workflows. - Solid frontend skills with React. . - Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP) — you're comfortable with services like S3, media pipelines, and deployment tooling. - Experience building AI-driven applications (e.g. prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, and/or fine-tuning experience are a plus). - Can independently lead projects from concept to launch. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a keen eye for detail. - A collaborative mindset, able to work autonomously in a small, fast-paced team. BONUS - Experience with React Router v7 or Remix. - Experience at a small, fast-moving SaaS company where you’ve been client-facing - Exposure to market research or qualitative research tooling. - You've shipped agentic AI systems to production and can speak to failure modes, evaluations, and tool design. WHY JOIN US? - Ship alongside engineers who've built and scaled products used by millions. - Work directly with frontier AI models and push what they can actually do. - Join a YC-backed team that's growing fast and gives you room to grow with it. - Competitive salary and meaningful equity. We want you to own a real piece of what we're building. - Offices in London, Antwerp, and New York. We work best together, so we ask for 3 days a week in the office. - Regular socials: rooftop drinks, team dinners, run clubs, and more. - Twice-yearly off-sites to places worth travelling to. Austria, Las Vegas, and Portugal. - Private health coverage with Vitality (incl. dental, vision) - Enhanced employer pension contribution (5% employer, 3% employee contribution) - Refer someone great and earn up to £5,000. #LI-ML1
