At Parallel, we build AI agents to help healthcare facilities automate their administrative processes and unlock additional revenue, starting with medical coding. Today, up to 25% of healthcare spending is lost in manual, repetitive administrative work. Legacy software hasn’t helped, it’s made things slower, more complex, and more frustrating for care teams. We believe AI agents can change that. Our technology combines Large Language Models with system-level automation to handle real work inside existing hospital tools. No integrations, no disruption. Our first agent automates coding workflows and frees up time for medical staff to focus on patients. We launched in 2024, are backed by top investors (Index, Frst, Y Combinator, Hexa, Kima Ventures, Better Angle), and we’re just getting started. The future of healthcare isn’t just digital — it’s automated. Come help us build it ! CONTEXT Reducing administrative workload in hospitals means running AI systems that doctors and care teams can actually rely on — securely, inside real hospital environments, every single day. That reliability layer doesn't exist yet at Parallel, and we're looking for the person who will build it. This is a founding SRE / DevOps role: you'll be the first and only DevOps engineer on the team, working hands-on alongside the founders and a freelance partner. There's no existing infra team to lean on and no one else to do the work at the start — you'll own it end to end, from cloud architecture to on-premise deployments inside hospital networks. YOUR MISSION Build and run the infrastructure that makes Parallel's AI systems reliable, secure, and deployable at scale across hospitals — spanning multi-cloud and on-premise environments, under strict health-data compliance (HDS). OUTCOMES - Multi-cloud infrastructure & container orchestration: design, implement, and maintain our infra across AWS, GCP, and Azure (ECS/Fargate, GKE Autopilot, Docker). - Security & health-data compliance: guarantee HDS compliance and data protection; proactively identify and resolve security risks. - On-premise & hybrid deployments: deploy and maintain infrastructure inside hospital networks, bridging cloud and client-site VMs via site-to-site VPN and Ansible, in constrained network environments where you don't own the full stack. - CI/CD & deployment workflows: set up pipelines (GitHub Actions) and build scalable, observable systems (logging, monitoring, tracing). - Reliability & DevOps culture: resolve reliability bottlenecks and define our DevOps processes from the ground up — incident response and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer, Ansible). YOU YOU ARE : This job is for you if: - You've owned infrastructure topics in production over the long term — not executed tickets handed down by a lead. The marker for us isn't a number of years (the role sits around 7/8+ years of experience as an indication), it's real long-term ownership in production. - You're very senior, very autonomous, and comfortable holding a solo role in a fast-paced startup. - You're hands-on first: you want to build, not manage a team (at least to start). - You have strong production experience across at least 3 of our 4 core topics: Kubernetes, MLOps, Ansible, on-prem + cloud — with Kubernetes and multi-cloud being non-negotiable. - You've mastered Terraform in production (not just seen it), and ideally Terragrunt, Packer, and Ansible. - You're hands-on across AWS, GCP, and Azure in a real multi-cloud setup, with container orchestration (ECS/Fargate, GKE Autopilot, Docker) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions). - You've worked on on-premise / hybrid deployments, with configuration management (Ansible) and site-to-site VPN connectivity. - You have a strong security mindset, ideally with exposure to health-data regulations (HDS, HIPAA). - Bonus: you've built or run AI/ML systems in production (serving, scaling, observability). HIRING PROCESS 1. First chat with Wallerand 2. Chat with our CTO, Chris 3. Case study + meeting with our CEO, Paul, at our office in Paris WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US? - A rare founding opportunity: you lay the foundations of a mission-critical health-tech platform from day one, with very high ownership and direct work alongside the founders. - A path to grow: this role is designed to scale into leading the DevOps team as we accelerate (acquisitions, international, multiple on-prem deployments) — if you want it and you deliver, you'll build your own team. - Real impact: your work directly frees up medical staff to focus on patients instead of administrative work. - Package & perks: competitive salary and meaningful equity, Alan health insurance, Swile meal vouchers, Apple equipment, 50% public-transport coverage, and a "Mobilité Douce" scheme. - On-site in Paris (Strasbourg Saint-Denis), 100% in person — because building this from scratch works best shoulder to shoulder. We care about who you are, not just what's on your CV. If you're drawn to what we're building but don't meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you. Studies show that women in particular tend to apply only when they meet 100% of the criteria. If that's you, please don't let that hold you back. We'd love to receive your application.
