Fairtide Partners Lifts Maxwell Power Commitment to $1.8B
The Salt Lake City company's latest $800M commitment follows $250M in 2024 and $750M in June 2026, bringing Fairtide Partners' total backing to $1.8 billion.
Maxwell Power has closed an investment commitment of $800 million from Fairtide Partners, money earmarked to purchase battery storage and solar power projects.
The Salt Lake City-based company is a power company that guarantees energy and savings to homeowners and small commercial customers. It deploys solar and battery storage systems to customers' homes, monitors and maintains those systems, and ensures they deliver power. Customers buy power on long-term contracts that lock in savings.
The $800M from Fairtide is the third commitment of its kind. Fairtide invested $250 million in 2024 and $750 million in June 2026, and the latest round pushes its total commitment to $1.8 billion for projects developed by Maxwell.
That escalating cadence — from $250 million to $750 million to $800 million across roughly two years — suggests a capital partner scaling alongside a buildout rather than funding a single tranche of assets. The commitments are directed at acquiring battery storage and solar projects, the physical infrastructure behind the long-term power contracts Maxwell sells.
Maxwell's model rests on owning the customer relationship and the equipment that serves it. Since 2018, the company says it has invested over $1.5 billion to help customers save an estimated $300 million. Because it carries the obligation to keep systems producing, the company has an incentive to buy quality equipment and maintain it — a structure that separates it from installers that hand off systems after commissioning.
Large, repeat commitments from a single backer are a distinctive feature of the residential solar and storage sector, where project-level financing often arrives in smaller, more fragmented slices. Fairtide's cumulative $1.8 billion makes it the dominant capital source for Maxwell's project pipeline.
The announcement did not disclose the valuation of Maxwell Power, the structure of the commitment, or a specific schedule for deploying the $800 million.
