Punch Secures $2M From Gutter Capital to Accelerate AI Construction Platform
The $2M injection will fund expansion of Punch's engineering and customer teams and further platform development.
Punch is an Atlanta‑based software startup that offers an AI‑driven construction intelligence platform, linking field crews with project‑management, operations and accounting workflows. The company announced a $2M injection of capital from returning investor Gutter Capital. The round is not labeled as a Series, but the investment will be used to broaden Punch’s engineering and customer teams, keep building out the platform’s capabilities and drive adoption across more contractors. Punch’s mobile app lets superintendents and workers capture job‑site information by speaking, taking photos or forwarding emails. The AI then applies a contractor’s internal rules to generate daily reports, follow‑up tasks, delay alerts, purchase orders and other operational documents. Early adopters have reported dramatic time savings; one superintendent said the platform cut the time to produce a daily report from about 30 minutes to three minutes, saving roughly 2.5 hours per day across reporting, material orders and payroll. The platform is designed to sit on top of existing estimating and accounting systems, allowing contractors to start with a single workflow such as daily reporting before expanding to purchasing or invoice review. By codifying internal approval rules and best‑practice processes, Punch also aims to preserve institutional knowledge as experienced workers retire, creating a company‑specific operational playbook for newer staff. Founder Taylor Sandusky, who started Punch in 2025, highlighted the company’s focus on field‑first AI: “I spent years managing construction projects, and I know how much of the day can disappear into paperwork… That’s what we’re building with Punch.” The funding from Gutter Capital, a technology‑focused investor that previously backed Punch, signals confidence in the startup’s approach to reducing paperwork and improving real‑time visibility for construction leadership.
I spent years managing construction projects, and I know how much of the day can disappear into paperwork. The people running these jobs already know what happened and what needs to happen next. They should be able to say it once and have that information move the work forward. That’s what we’re building with Punch.
