EdVisorly Raises $13.3M Series A for AI-Powered Transfer Enrollment
The Los Angeles-based company, backed by Breachway Capital, counts Texas Tech and Stony Brook among its university clients.
EdVisorly, a Los Angeles-based EdTech startup, has closed a $13.3 million Series A round led by Breachway Capital. The company builds AI-driven software that automates transfer credit evaluation and student recruitment for colleges and universities — a process that remains stubbornly manual at most institutions.
The platform’s core tool, EddyAI, ingests and parses transcripts to extract course data, match it against institutional equivalency databases, and push structured results into a school’s enrollment systems. On its website, EdVisorly claims the technology can accelerate application reading by a factor of seven and fully automate transfer credit evaluations. A separate module, EddyDB, centralizes equivalency decisions and includes a recommendation engine for faculty approval workflows. For prospective students, EddyNavigate surfaces real-time transfer credit visibility before an application is submitted.
Those claims are backed by early adopters. Texas Tech University reports it was an early user of the platform, and Stony Brook University says it now automates over 60% of its transcripts with near-perfect accuracy, eliminating the need to hire additional processing staff. The company’s website displays logos from more than 30 institutions, including Rice University, Drexel, SMU, and the University of Pittsburgh.
EdVisorly’s push into transfer enrollment comes as colleges face mounting pressure to attract and retain students amid demographic shifts and public skepticism about the value of a degree. Transfer students — especially those moving from community colleges to four-year schools — represent a critical pipeline, yet the credit evaluation process often involves manual data entry, inconsistent rules, and long delays that can discourage applicants. The company positions its product suite as a way to turn that friction into a competitive advantage.
The Series A funding will be used to expand the platform’s capabilities and grow its university customer base. Breachway Capital’s backing marks a significant step for a company that has already landed contracts with a range of public and private institutions. No further financial details were disclosed.
