Siena's $17M Series A Backs an 'Agent of Record' Play for Consumer Brands
York IE led the Series A, with Joyance Ventures joining alongside existing investors Aglaé Ventures and Sierra Ventures, bringing Siena's total funding to $29.7 million.
Siena, a New York-based AI customer experience platform, has closed a $17 million Series A round, the company announced. York IE led the financing, with participation from Joyance Ventures and existing investors Aglaé Ventures and Sierra Ventures. The round brings Siena's total funding to $29.7 million.
Founded in 2023, Siena describes itself as the "Agent of Record" for consumer brands, pitching a system that pools customer intelligence and distributes it to both AI agents and human teams. The company says its platform spans support, shopping, social, voice, retention and customer insights — a wider remit than the support-ticket automation that most customer experience vendors start with.
That breadth is the substance of Siena's competitive argument. Rather than selling a single-channel chatbot, the company positions itself as owning the customer relationship layer across whatever surface a shopper happens to use, then feeding what it learns back into retention and insight work. It says hundreds of leading consumer brands use the platform to automate customer interactions and turn them into relationships.
Siena's customer list gives the pitch some weight. The company names FIGS, Grüns, SPANX, HexClad, Comfrt, Caraway and Kitsch among the brands it works with — a roster weighted toward direct-to-consumer retail, where customer contact volume is high, margins are sensitive to service costs, and repeat purchase behavior is the core revenue driver.
Investor appetite for that category has been uneven, with many customer service automation startups competing on seat reduction and response times. Siena's framing — agent of record, shared intelligence across departments — tries to move the conversation toward infrastructure rather than tooling, a positioning that tends to command higher valuations and stickier contracts if it holds up in practice.
York IE's lead check, alongside continued backing from Aglaé Ventures and Sierra Ventures, suggests the company's existing investors were willing to follow. Joyance Ventures is a new participant in the round.
The announcement did not disclose how Siena intends to deploy the capital, nor did it specify a valuation or headcount.
