Orca Fraud's $2.4M seed targets fraud on fragmented payment rails
Norrsken22 led the seed, with OneDayYes, Enza Capital and CV VC Africa also participating.
Orca Fraud, an enterprise fraud intelligence platform, has raised $2.4M in seed funding to expand its real-time transaction monitoring capabilities across Africa and other emerging markets.
The round was led by Norrsken22, a returning investor focused on supporting high-growth tech companies in Africa. Additional participation came from OneDayYes, Enza Capital and CV VC Africa.
Founded in 2026 by Thalia Pillay and Carla Wilby, Orca Fraud provides a platform that embeds adaptive intelligence directly into live payment flows. The product is built to monitor fraud and AML patterns across fragmented payment rails, helping banks, telcos and payment providers manage risk in complex, mobile-first environments.
That positioning places the company in the fraud detection and prevention software category, a segment where the operating environment itself is the challenge: payment infrastructure in emerging markets is split across many providers and rails, and transaction velocity is high. Orca Fraud's pitch is that monitoring has to sit inside the payment flow rather than alongside it.
According to the company, the new capital will be used to scale its operations and advance its real-time transaction monitoring and fraud intelligence platform. The funding is also intended to support efforts to enhance its infrastructure for managing fraud in high-velocity payment systems across emerging markets.
The raise is a small one by global seed standards, but Norrsken22's return to the cap table signals continued conviction in the African and emerging-market payments thesis. Enza Capital and CV VC Africa, both active in the region's early-stage ecosystem, joined alongside OneDayYes.
The company's stated focus remains the expansion of its monitoring footprint across Africa and other emerging markets, a geography where mobile-first payment behaviour has outrun the risk tooling traditionally available to banks and telcos.
Orca Fraud did not disclose a valuation, revenue figures or headcount in the announcement.
