Austin Sensing Takes Its Airspace Sensors In-House With $11M Seed
Bow Capital led the round, which the company reports brings cumulative funding to $15M ahead of planned 2027 radar and acoustic production.
Austin Sensing Company wants public-safety and defense operators to see the airspace as one picture rather than a set of disconnected feeds. The Austin-based company said on October 15 that it raised an $11M seed round led by Bow Capital, with Bling Capital, Draper Associates, mark vc, GTMfund, Ensemble VC and others participating.
The financing accompanies a manufacturing move. A 20,000-square-foot Austin factory will put component manufacturing on the same floor as the people developing the sensing systems, and the company plans to make critical radar and acoustic components in-house. Austin Sensing reports $15M in cumulative funding, a figure that includes earlier financing: a previous GTMfund-led pre-seed, announced under the Oureon name, was disclosed at $3.5M. Those amounts come from different announcements and use different precision, so the $15M is best read as a reported total rather than an exact reconciliation.
The company's Sensing Stack combines radio-frequency, acoustic and radar sensing with software that correlates the inputs. The lineup includes RF AS, Acoustic AS, Radar AS and the combined Tower AS, while Operator AS provides the software view — threat prioritization, alerts and event records — with an open API intended to connect the system to other platforms. The pitch addresses an ordinary purchasing problem inside a technically difficult market: every additional supplier introduces another interface, support relationship and explanation for an inconsistent result.
Maturity varies across that lineup. RF systems are already deployed, while the radar and acoustic systems remain in development and testing, according to the founders' interview with Tectonic. The official Radar AS listing also states that FCC authorization has not yet been obtained and that the device cannot be offered for sale or lease until it is. High-volume radar and acoustic production is planned for 2027 — a roadmap item, not equipment available at volume today.
Co-founder and CEO Tucker Dordevic reports deployments with more than 40 organizations across police departments, fire departments, military units, universities and professional sports. That is company-reported deployment evidence rather than an audited revenue figure or a count of paid military contracts. Among the named users are the Oregon Department of Forestry and the St. Lucie County and Martin County sheriff's offices. In a customer account published on the supplier's site, Oregon's aviation coordinator describes moving beyond visual reports of drones in firefighting airspace. The company was founded in 2025 and is led by Dordevic and CTO Isaac Duke.
Dordevic's funding announcement identifies engineering, manufacturing, sales and operations as hiring areas at the Austin factory. No publicly verified valuation or investor check sizes were disclosed with the round.
