Salesforce Acquires Israeli Startup Loops for Approximately $30M
Salesforce has announced its acquisition of Loops, a startup specializing in AI analytics, for about $30M.
Salesforce has entered into an agreement to acquire Loops, an Israeli startup known for its AI-powered analytics technology that helps businesses understand changes in key metrics and recommends actionable steps. This acquisition is valued at approximately $30 million, although the exact price has not been publicly disclosed. The integration of Loops' innovative technology and team into Salesforce's Tableau platform aims to enhance the company's capabilities in providing autonomous analytics solutions.
Founded in 2020 by CEO Tom Laufer and CTO Ido Adiv, Loops focuses on bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights. The startup developed a platform that utilizes machine learning models and causal analysis to explain the reasons behind shifts in business metrics, such as revenue and customer engagement. This capability is critical as businesses increasingly rely on data-driven decision-making.
The acquisition is part of Salesforce's broader strategy to evolve Tableau from a platform where users need to actively seek insights to one where AI continuously monitors and analyzes business performance. By doing so, Salesforce aims to empower organizations to transition from merely identifying what has happened to understanding the underlying drivers of those outcomes and determining subsequent actions.
Salesforce's executive vice president and general manager of Tableau, Mark Recher, emphasized the alignment between Loops' mission and Tableau's vision of making analytics more accessible and actionable. The acquisition also complements Salesforce's growing footprint in the Israeli startup ecosystem, which has seen the company acquire multiple firms in recent years, including Own and Doti AI.
Loops had previously raised $14 million in a Seed round in 2022, showcasing significant investor confidence in its potential to transform business analytics. The company operates out of Tel Aviv and the United States, and it is expected that the acquisition will close in early November of Salesforce's fiscal 2027, pending customary conditions.
This acquisition not only highlights Salesforce's commitment to enhancing its data analytics capabilities through innovative technology but also reflects the ongoing trend of consolidating AI-based solutions in the market as businesses strive to leverage data more effectively.
