Swish secures $24M led by Bertelsmann India as round stays unnamed

Swish, the Swedish fintech behind a mobile payment service used by 8.8 million Swedes, has pulled in $24M in fresh funding led by Bertelsmann India. The Stockholm-based company announced the investment on September 10, 2026, but did not disclose the round type or valuation.

Getswish AB is the legal entity behind the Swish app. Founded in 2012, the company enables real-time payments between consumers and businesses using only a mobile phone number, with each transaction approved via Mobile BankID. The platform also handles recurring payments, bill-splitting requests to multiple people, and QR-code purchases.

The investment lands during a period of product and partnership activity. In August 2026, global payments platform PPRO went live with Swish for businesses, allowing more merchants to offer the payment method to their customers. In May 2026, Swish launched a feature that lets users split costs, pay for tickets, or buy gifts together by sending requests to several people at once and tracking who owes what inside the app. Earlier in March 2026, the company published a report on self-service retail showing that the segment grew 7 percent in Sweden during 2025 while retail staffing still increased 6.3 percent.

Swish did not specify how it plans to deploy the new capital. The company’s corporate registry lists its legal name as Getswish AB, organization number 556913-7382, with its domicile in Stockholm.
