Gogoro Lines Up $62M From Director Yin's Entities and Strategic Investors
Gold Sino Asset Limited, controlled by director Chung-Yao Yin, is expected to hold roughly 45% of Gogoro's ordinary shares after the deal prices at $2.48 per share.
Gogoro has lined up approximately $62M in new equity investments from entities controlled by director Chung-Yao Yin and additional strategic investors, capital the electric mobility company says will support its balance sheet and long-term growth plans.
The company plans to issue approximately 24.94 million ordinary shares at a purchase price of $2.48 per share. Participants in the financing include Gold Sino Asset Limited and Peng-Lin Investment Limited, both controlled by Yin, as well as Ruen Hua Dyeing & Weaving and Yi Tai Investment.
The ownership map shifts after closing. Gold Sino is expected to beneficially own approximately 45% of Gogoro's outstanding ordinary shares, Peng-Lin is expected to hold approximately 8.8%, and Ruen Hua and its affiliates are expected to beneficially own approximately 21.9% of the company.
Gogoro operates and develops a battery-swapping ecosystem for electric two-wheel transportation. Its network supports nearly 700,000 riders and includes more than 2,700 GoStation battery-swapping locations. The platform is designed to provide riders with rapid access to charged batteries while supporting a broader electric mobility ecosystem spanning vehicles, battery technology, software, and energy infrastructure — the asset base the new capital is meant to keep funding.
The financing represents a second round of new equity investments involving entities controlled by Yin and other strategic investors, further increasing their financial commitment to Gogoro. Gogoro said the new capital will strengthen its balance sheet and provide additional resources to support continued business development and the execution of its long-term growth strategy.
The transaction has been reviewed and approved by Gogoro's Audit Committee and Board of Directors. Closing remains subject to customary conditions, including required Nasdaq clearance, and Gogoro expects the investment to be funded on or before October 13, 2026.
The $62M financing gives the company additional financial flexibility as it continues investing in its network, technology, and broader business strategy. For a company whose pitch rests on swapping batteries in seconds rather than plugging in, the fresh equity buys time to keep building out the stations and software that make that promise work at scale.
