PeakSpan Backs North's $60M Series B to Take Over the Cloud Bill
The Brooklyn financial-operations software company will use the $60M, led by PeakSpan Capital with participation from Litquidity Ventures and Companyon Ventures, to expand autonomous optimization, integrations and AI spend management.
North.cloud has put its own accounts behind some of the discounts it sells. The Brooklyn financial-operations software company announced a $60M Series B on October 15, 2026, led by PeakSpan Capital, with Litquidity Ventures, Companyon Ventures, Alpaca, Uncommon Denominator, Gaingels and Mana Ventures also participating.
The round is a $60M bet on an awkward corner of the budget: the commitments finance and engineering teams make to cloud providers, model vendors and data platforms as those costs converge inside the same products. North's pitch is that finding a cheaper rate is the easy part — the harder question is who holds the obligation once the rate is locked in.
Its Coverage product splits that question in two. Flexbot uses North-owned member accounts to hold commitments and give customers access to discounted capacity. Autobot automates commitments owned in the customer's own cloud accounts, letting purchasing proceed inside a strategy the customer has selected, with simulation before purchase and goals and guardrails set for the buying process. For a buyer, the difference is practical: flexibility of a managed arrangement, or ownership of the commitment with the administration automated.
The scope has widened beyond one provider's monthly statement. North's v3 release added generally available Microsoft Azure support alongside AWS and Google Cloud Platform, and introduced native cost integrations for OpenAI, Anthropic and Snowflake. TokenFlow extends the ambition toward model usage, attribution and controls; the v3 announcement describes it as beta, and the current product page offers a waitlist — a distinction that matters for a buyer planning an implementation.
North reports approaching $2B in managed cloud spend and more than $400M in customer savings, company-reported customer financial metrics rather than its own revenue. AssemblyAI, Tines, Atlan, SnapLogic, Emplifi and Imply are among the customers named in the announcement.
North plans to use the capital for autonomous optimization across providers, deeper integrations, AI spend management, and growth in engineering, product and go-to-market teams. Its current careers page reports $67M raised in total and lists Brooklyn roles across engineering, customer success, sales, partnerships, FinOps advocacy and marketing — a mix that matches the work of explaining a purchasing policy, implementing it and keeping it useful when a customer's infrastructure changes.
The Series B follows a $5M Series A led by Companyon Ventures, announced in June 2025. PeakSpan, the new lead, focuses on scaling business software companies, and Partner Sanket Merchant's remit includes digital infrastructure.
