Ramesh Bhutada leads Oben Electric's Series A as December EV deals pile up
Oben Electric has raised $9.4M in Series A funding led by Ramesh Bhutada, according to StartupTalky's Indian startup funding tracker.
Oben Electric, an electric vehicles company headquartered in Karnataka, has raised $9.4M in Series A funding, with Ramesh Bhutada named as the lead investor, according to StartupTalky's Indian startup funding tracker. The company builds electric motorcycles.
The round appears in the tracker's December 2025 window covering 16 December to 29 December, a fortnight in which electric vehicle and mobility deals made up a visible slice of the Indian startup funding table. Oben Electric's $9.4M Series A sits alongside several other EV-related raises in the same period.
Blinq Mobility, an Electric Vehicles company based in Haryana, raised $480K in a seed round led by 8i Ventures. Naxatra Labs, also in Electric Vehicles and also in Haryana, brought in $3M in seed funding led by Rainmatter. Further down the table, Qucev, an Electric Vehicles company headquartered in Telangana, raised $15M in Series B funding led by Singularity AMC. Entuple E-Mobility, classified under Energy Storage Tech in Karnataka, added $1.44M in seed funding led by VCAPL.
The broader window was not confined to two-wheelers and storage. In the preceding 25 November to 8 December period, Ultraviolette, another Karnataka-based Electric Vehicles company, raised $45M in a Series E round led by Zoho — the largest EV cheque in the tracker's recent entries. Neuron Energy, an Energy Storage Tech company in Maharashtra, raised $3.5M in Series A funding from Equanimity Investments in the same stretch.
The tracker's December 16–29 list runs the width of the Indian startup market — from Shriram Finance's $4.42B post-IPO round led by MUFG and MoEngage's $57M Series F led by ChrysCapital to seed cheques well under $1M. Within that spread, Oben Electric's eight-figure Series A is a mid-sized bet on the country's electric mobility build-out.
The source material does not state what Oben Electric intends to do with the proceeds, so no use-of-proceeds detail is included here.
