Boulevard Bio Emerges From Stealth With $65M From Deerfield Management

Boulevard Bio, a New York-based biotech incubated by Deerfield Management, has emerged from stealth with $65 million from founding investor Deerfield Management. The company is developing multi-specific antibodies grounded in a deep understanding of B cell disease biology, with a pipeline of three candidates.

Its lead program, BLVD101, is a dual BAFF/APRIL-targeting bispecific antibody being evaluated in an ongoing Phase 1 single-ascending dose study in healthy volunteers as a potential treatment for IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Early Phase 1 healthy volunteer data support a 12-week (quarterly) dosing interval in IgAN, according to the announcement.

Boulevard was founded by pioneers in B cell biology and incubated within Deerfield Discovery and Development (3DC), Deerfield's internal therapeutics research and development engine. The company's approach is grounded in the identification of key mechanisms and targets that drive pathology, and the ability to engineer multi-specific antibodies to address those drivers.

The company says it aims to optimize each of the three candidates in its pipeline to improve the quality of life a chronic illness often erodes. Beyond BLVD101, Boulevard's pipeline includes two additional candidates, though the announcement does not detail them.
