Circle Secures $2.6M Seed Round to Expand Pre-Owned Goods Marketplace
Circle has raised $2.6M in seed funding, led by Nexus Venture Partners, to broaden its marketplace beyond Bengaluru.
Circle, a startup specializing in the pre-owned goods marketplace, has successfully raised $2.6 million in a seed funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. This funding round also saw participation from existing investors Titan Capital, Raveen Sastry, and Delhivery COO Ajith Pai. The capital will be instrumental for Circle as it aims to expand its operations beyond its initial market, Bengaluru, where it has already facilitated around ₹25 crores in pre-owned goods sales within just a year of its launch.
Since its inception, Circle has attracted over one million visitors and generated 100,000 listings on its platform, showcasing a robust market interest in its offerings. The company's unique model focuses on managing verification, payments, and logistics without owning inventory, which could prove to be a scalable solution as they look to enter new territories. This funding marks a significant step for Circle as it tests its marketplace model in different regions, potentially tapping into the growing consumer demand for pre-owned goods. The pre-owned goods market has been gaining traction globally, driven by increased sustainability awareness and a shift in consumer preferences toward second-hand products.
As Circle prepares for its expansion, it joins a competitive landscape where many startups are vying for a share of the growing pre-owned goods market. By leveraging its existing operational model and the support from its investors, Circle is poised to capitalize on this burgeoning opportunity, aiming to enhance its user experience and broaden its reach in the coming months.
