Ghost Ai Secures $11M Seed Round to Launch AI-Centric Personal Computer
Ghost Ai has raised $11M in a seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz to build Core, a personal AI computer priced at $3,499.
Ghost Ai, a startup focused on personal artificial intelligence, has announced it has raised $11 million in its seed funding round, led by the prominent venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Other investors in this round include Abstract, Audacious Ventures, SV Angel, and Nova. The funding comes as Ghost Ai emerges from stealth mode, preparing to launch its first product—Core, a personal computer designed specifically for AI agents that can take actions on behalf of users.
Founded by 19-year-old Zain Javaid, Ghost Ai aims to centralize personal data and automate tasks through its innovative hardware. The Core device, priced at $3,499, incorporates an Nvidia RTX Pro 4000 SFF Blackwell GPU, allowing it to run AI models effectively. Javaid describes the Core as a "brain in a box," which users can access through a phone app or voice commands, rather than a traditional screen setup. Preorders for the first batch of Core will open soon, with shipping expected in late October.
Javaid and his founding team, which includes fellow young entrepreneurs Nicholas Chua, Yifei Chen, and Gautam Sharda, believe that Core will fill a market gap for users looking for a dedicated machine for AI applications. Unlike conventional computers such as the Mac Mini, which can be adapted for AI tasks, Core's hardware and software are specifically built for running AI agents, with pre-installed models that enable seamless operation.
The company positions itself against established tech giants, asserting that its focus on personal data security and user autonomy sets it apart. All data processed by Core resides locally, ensuring encryption and privacy, and users maintain control over their information. Javaid emphasizes that the device will not rely on external servers, allowing it to function independently even if Ghost Ai ceases operations.
As the market for personal AI continues to expand, Ghost Ai's approach reflects a growing demand for user-friendly, secure, and dedicated AI solutions. With its significant seed funding and unique product offering, Ghost Ai is set to make a notable entry into the competitive landscape of AI technology.
