Kallyope Reemerges as TriGemX Bio With $94M for Oral Migraine Drug
The Column Group, TCG Crossover, and Viking Global Investors led the venture round, lifting the company's reported equity funding to $573M.
TriGemX Bio, the biotech company formerly known as Kallyope, has raised $94M in venture funding, according to AlleyWatch's daily funding report for October 2, 2026.
The round was led by The Column Group, TCG Crossover, and Viking Global Investors. The company relaunched under the TriGemX Bio name alongside the financing, retiring the Kallyope identity it had used since its founding.
TriGemX Bio develops a first-in-class oral medicine for the treatment of migraine — a category where patients have historically cycled through treatments that are injectable, slow-acting, or inconsistently effective. The company is pitching its program as a straightforward oral option rather than a device or biologic.
The company was founded in 2015 by Charles Zuker, Richard Axel, and Thomas Maniatis. With the new round, TriGemX Bio has now raised a total of $573M in reported equity funding, a figure that places it among the more heavily capitalized private biotechs in the migraine space.
The size of the raise relative to the company's stage is notable. Migraine drug development carries the full cost structure of clinical-stage biotech — long timelines, expensive trials, and regulatory risk — and the $94M injection gives the company a fresh runway with a syndicate that includes both crossover and traditional venture investors. TCG Crossover's participation is particularly relevant, as crossover funds typically position themselves for later-stage milestones.
The financing also serves as a rebranding moment. Dropping the Kallyope name and adopting TriGemX Bio signals a sharpened identity around the company's migraine program rather than the broader neuroscience research platform it was originally associated with. Startups in capital-intensive sectors frequently rename as they narrow their clinical focus and approach the point where investors and partners need a clean, single-asset story.
TriGemX Bio did not disclose how it intends to deploy the proceeds. The announcement also did not disclose a valuation or the specific ownership stake the lead investors received.
The round appeared in a daily report that also covered Walapay, a payments infrastructure company that raised $4.6M in seed funding led by Generative Ventures.
