Toronto's Altis Labs lands $25M Series A to push AI deeper into cancer trials

Altis Labs has raised a $25M Series A to expand its artificial intelligence software for cancer clinical trials, according to funding data tracked by AI Funding.

The Toronto-based company develops AI for oncology research, building tools that help clinical research teams apply AI within cancer studies. Its products are aimed at the organizations that design, run and evaluate those trials, rather than at general clinical automation.

The round was announced on September 21, 2026. It is the company's only disclosed funding round in the AI Funding database, and it brings Altis Labs' cumulative total raised to $25M. The investors behind the Series A were not disclosed.

Altis Labs said the money will go toward expanding its AI capabilities for cancer trials, the same purpose named in the announcement of the raise. No further detail on spending plans was provided.

The deal places Altis Labs in healthcare AI, a category where, as AI Funding notes, differentiation centers on applying specialized AI to oncology trial workflows rather than broad clinical automation. That is a narrower positioning than many of the sector's largest capital raisers: among the related AI healthcare companies tracked by AI Funding are IM8, with $1.0B total raised, Neko Health and Neko at $700M each, Alan at $460M, Function Health at $450M and Chai Discovery at $400M.

The Series A is a step up in scale for a company whose public record until now consisted of a single tracked round. Whether the $25M is enough to move it from tooling for trial teams to a durable position inside oncology research workflows is the question the next few years of trial deployments will answer.
