Impulse Space Extends Series D With $308M From Existing Backers
The Redondo Beach-based in-space mobility company's Series D now totals $808M after participation from 137 Ventures, BANNER VC, DFJ Growth, Linse Capital, Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners.
Impulse Space has added $308 million to its Series D round, the Redondo Beach, California-based in-space mobility company said on September 17, 2026.
The extension pushes the combined Series D total to $808 million, a figure that places the raise among the larger space-sector rounds disclosed this year. Impulse Space describes itself as the in-space mobility leader, a positioning that frames the company's focus on moving payloads and hardware once they are already in orbit rather than on launch itself.
The extension drew participation from a group of existing investors: 137 Ventures, BANNER VC, DFJ Growth, Linse Capital, Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners, among others. No single lead investor was named for the extension, and all of the disclosed participants were already on the company's cap table — a structure that differs from a fresh, externally led round and suggests the raise was assembled from investors with prior exposure to the business.
The announcement characterized the participation as reflecting continued confidence in the company and its long-term vision. No valuation was disclosed for the extension, and the company did not state what the new capital will fund.
Nothing in the announcement indicated a shift in strategy, a new product line or a change in the company's executive ranks. The round type — a Series D extension rather than a new lettered round — means Impulse Space is adding to an existing pricing and investor base instead of repricing the company with new terms.
For a sector where capital requirements are long-dated and milestones are measured in launches and on-orbit demonstrations, the concentration of insider participation is itself the headline detail: the same investors who backed the earlier portion of the Series D elected to add to their positions rather than step back at the extension stage.
