BlackSoil backs Regency Hospital's tier-2 push with $13M debt
The Uttar Pradesh tertiary care operator will deploy the BlackSoil debt round into new healthcare infrastructure across Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur.
Regency Hospital, a tertiary care provider in Uttar Pradesh, has raised $13M in debt from BlackSoil Capital to fund its expansion and investments in new healthcare infrastructure.
With more than three decades of operating history, Regency runs hospitals and healthcare facilities across Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. Its multi- and super-specialty offering spans oncology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology, critical care and other specialities.
Abhishek Kapoor, CEO of Regency Hospital Limited, tied the financing directly to capacity building in the state. "Regency has remained focused on expanding access to quality tertiary and super-specialty healthcare across Uttar Pradesh," he said. "The Rs 110 crore financing from BlackSoil will support our investments in new healthcare infrastructure and enable us to build further capacity in markets where the demand for specialised care continues to grow."
The deal lands as healthcare delivery and demand for specialised care extend beyond India's major metropolitan centres. Established healthcare operators are expanding across tier-2 and tier-3 markets, and rising insurance and government healthcare scheme penetration is feeding demand for institutional capital to build and expand healthcare capacity. That combination is what the financing is aimed at.
BlackSoil, the lender, has already built exposure across hospitals, diagnostics and medical equipment distribution. The platform said it sees a growing financing opportunity across hospitals, diagnostics, specialty healthcare operators and medical equipment businesses, and that it intends to pursue further healthcare credit opportunities over the next 12 to 18 months.
For Regency, the money is earmarked for new healthcare infrastructure rather than any change in ownership — the company remains an operator adding capacity in markets where specialised care demand is climbing. The raise was announced on October 6, 2026.
