Salary Hero lands $7.6M Series A to take earned-wage access into Malaysia
Cento Ventures led the round, with Kairous Capital and M Venture Partners also participating, as the Bangkok-founded fintech builds a local Malaysian team and employer partnerships.
Salary Hero, a Bangkok-founded fintech that gives workers early access to wages they have already earned, has raised $7.6 million in Series A funding to push the model into Malaysia.
The round was led by Cento Ventures. Kairous Capital and M Venture Partners also participated, according to the company's funding announcement dated October 14, 2026.
The capital is earmarked for the Malaysian market specifically: Salary Hero plans to expand its earned-wage access operations there, build a local team, and develop partnerships with employers and distribution partners in the region.
Founded in Bangkok in 2021 by Jonathan Nohr and Prabhav Rakhra, Salary Hero provides earned-wage access and employee financial wellness solutions. Its core offering lets employees draw on wages they have already accrued before their scheduled payday — money that would otherwise be locked up until the end of a pay cycle.
The company frames that as a substitute for high-interest payday loans, which borrowers often turn to when a bill lands before their salary does and which can quickly become expensive debt. By embedding access to accrued wages alongside other financial wellness tools, Salary Hero sells into employers rather than directly to individual borrowers, making the workplace the distribution channel.
That employer-side model is the same one the company now intends to replicate north of its home market. Malaysia's workforce, like Thailand's, includes a large share of salaried and hourly employees whose income arrives on a fixed monthly schedule — the gap that earned-wage access providers target. Success there will depend heavily on the employer and distribution partnerships the new funding is meant to fund, since the product requires payroll integration and an employer willing to sponsor it.
The Series A is Salary Hero's first disclosed institutional round of this size and hands the company a regional investor base spanning Cento Ventures, Kairous Capital and M Venture Partners to support the cross-border build-out.
