Maverick Silicon Leads $65M Series A for Portland Chip Startup Mueon
The Series A, led by Maverick Silicon, also drew Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT and Defined.
Mueon, a semiconductor systems company based in Portland, Oregon, has raised $65M in a Series A round announced on October 15, 2026.
Maverick Silicon led the financing. The round also drew participation from Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT, and Defined — a mix that includes both strategic chip-industry investors and regional venture funds.
The company describes itself as building "a new modular foundation for AI and hyperscale computing." At the center of that effort is what Mueon calls its Exponential™ Computing Platform, aimed at AI and hyperscale infrastructure. Its Cubelets™ architecture uses modular, stackable building blocks to tightly integrate compute, memory, interconnect, power delivery, and thermal management.
The stated design goal is to increase deployable compute density while reducing system complexity, power, and infrastructure overhead — a set of constraints that have become central to data center planning as AI workloads scale.
Mueon is betting that the answer lies in how the system is assembled rather than in any single component. By treating compute, memory, interconnect, power and thermal management as one integrated, stackable unit, the company is targeting the overhead that accumulates when those functions are handled as separate layers of infrastructure.
That approach puts Mueon in the crowded territory of AI infrastructure, where chipmakers, system vendors and hyperscalers are all reworking architectures to keep pace with dense, power-hungry workloads. The presence of Intel Capital among the investors signals strategic interest from an incumbent processor vendor.
The company's team is drawn from across the semiconductor stack. Mueon says it brings together engineers and industry leaders with experience spanning CPU and GPU architecture, memory systems, advanced packaging, high-speed I/O, power delivery, thermal engineering, and large-scale system design — a combination that maps closely onto the integration problem its Cubelets architecture is meant to solve.
Mueon did not disclose what the new capital will fund, nor did it provide a valuation or details on prior financing.
