NuSynth Technologies Secures ₹36.5 Crore in Seed Funding for Chemical Innovation
Mysuru-based NuSynth Technologies has raised ₹36.5 crore in Seed funding, co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC, to enhance India's chemical innovation for the pharma sector.
Mysuru-based startup NuSynth Technologies, an R&D-led process innovation collaborative platform for complex chemistry, has raised ₹36.5 crore in Seed funding. This round was co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC, marking a significant investment in a company focused on enhancing India's capabilities in chemical synthesis, particularly for the pharmaceutical industry.
Over the last two decades, India has established a strong foundation in chemical manufacturing. However, it still faces challenges in synthesizing critical molecules, which often require complex, multi-step processes that are costly, energy-intensive, and reliant on imported materials. NuSynth aims to address these challenges by innovating on chemical processes from the ground up, rather than making incremental adjustments.
The company’s innovative approach involves re-evaluating starting materials, reaction pathways, and overall process economics to develop synthetic routes that enhance cost efficiency, yield, safety, and sustainability. Starting with high-value sectors like pharmaceuticals and electronic chemicals, NuSynth is on a path to extend its process innovation capabilities across multiple sectors driven by chemistry.
The funds raised will support the development of NuSynth's R&D and technology capabilities, the initial portfolio of proprietary processes, and the scale-up of operations. Poorvank Purohit, Co-Founder & CEO of NuSynth Technologies, emphasizes the potential of India's next chapter in industrial chemistry, stating, "We believe the next chapter will be defined by our ability to innovate on the underlying chemistry itself."
Shruti Srivastava, Partner at Avaana Capital, echoes this sentiment, noting that the future growth of India’s high-performance industrial chemistry will depend on the ability to create proprietary synthesis pathways that are fundamentally more efficient and scalable. This investment not only highlights the confidence investors have in NuSynth but also reflects the growing importance of innovative chemical processes in driving sustainability and efficiency in the chemical manufacturing sector.
As NuSynth moves forward, it is well-positioned to play a critical role in redefining how chemical processes are approached in India, with the potential to lead the charge in domestic R&D and innovation in the chemical landscape.
