SiMa.ai's $150M Series C Draws Fidelity and Amplify, Targets Nvidia's Turf
The Series C, announced Sept. 29, 2026, is aimed at powering humanoids, drones and cars without Nvidia.
SiMa.ai has raised $150M in Series C funding, with Fidelity and Amplify named as backers of the round. The company develops machine-learning systems-on-chip for edge deployment — silicon built to run AI workloads on the device rather than in a remote data centre.
Announced on Sept. 29, 2026, the raise is aimed at powering humanoids, drones and cars without Nvidia. That framing sets SiMa.ai's pitch against the company whose GPUs dominate AI computing. Edge applications impose constraints a data centre does not: tight power budgets, thermal limits and a need for inference to happen locally, without a round trip to the cloud.
SiMa.ai's answer is a machine-learning system-on-chip designed for that environment. Its target markets, as described in the announcement, cover three of the most demanding corners of physical AI: humanoid robots, drones and automotive systems.
The investors backing the round are Fidelity and Amplify. Their support gives SiMa.ai capital to pursue a segment where a growing number of chipmakers are trying to carve out ground away from Nvidia's accelerator business. Whether edge silicon can scale as quickly as data-centre hardware remains an open question, but SiMa.ai is betting that humanoids, drones and vehicles will be the next large market for on-device machine learning.
The announcement did not specify a valuation or detail how the capital will be divided across those markets.
