OrderEAT's cashless cafeteria pitch lands $2M led by Chile Ventures

OrderEAT has raised $2M in a round led by Chile Ventures, with participation from Driven VC, Add Ventures, Seedstars, and angel investors Sergio Fogel and Avedis Boudakian.

The company digitizes payments and operations for school cafeterias. Families use its app to add funds and place orders, allowing students to pay without cash, while cafeteria operators use the platform to manage menus, inventory, nutrition, and sales.

OrderEAT was founded by Uruguayan entrepreneurs Matías Craviotto, Juan Manuel Rodriguez and Luis Pedro Carrero. According to the announcement, the company operates in more than 600 schools across Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru, serving more than 250,000 active students.

The new capital is earmarked for expansion across Latin America, with a particular focus on Chile, where OrderEAT says it serves more than 50 schools.

Growth has been brisk by the company's own account: it added 200 schools in less than six months and aims to reach one million active students within 18 months. Hitting that target would roughly quadruple its current student base.

The investor mix reflects a blend of regional venture funds and well-known Latin American angel backers, alongside a round led by a Chilean fund — an alignment with the company's stated near-term priority of deepening its presence in Chile's school cafeteria market.

School meal payments remain a largely cash-driven segment in the region, with cafeterias often handling change, credit tabs and manual reconciliation. OrderEAT's pitch is that moving those transactions into an app gives operators tighter control over menus, stock and sales reporting while giving families a prepaid way to fund student purchases.

No valuation, revenue figures or headcount were disclosed in the announcement.
