Verlinvest, Mirchandani Family Buy Up Epigamia Stakes In $20M Secondary Deal
DSG Consumer Partners and Deepika Padukone's KA Enterprises were among the sellers, while Sauce.vc entered Epigamia's cap table as a new investor.
Existing shareholders Verlinvest and the family of Epigamia's late cofounder Rohan Mirchandani have increased their stakes in the D2C dairy brand through a $20M secondary transaction, consolidating ownership among long-term backers.
Epigamia sells dairy-led consumer products under a direct-to-consumer brand, and the deal positions the company for its next phase of growth under recently appointed CEO Ritesh Gauba.
On the other side of the transaction, DSG Consumer Partners and Deepika Padukone's KA Enterprises were among the selling shareholders. Sauce.vc, meanwhile, joined Epigamia's cap table, adding a new name to the register even as the largest existing holders deepened their positions.
Because the transaction is a secondary deal, the shares changed hands between investors rather than the proceeds flowing into the company as fresh primary capital. The upshot is a tighter, more concentrated shareholder base anchored by Verlinvest and the Mirchandani family — a structure the company framed as backing for its next stage of growth.
Rohan Mirchandani, who cofounded the business, has died, and the family's increased holding keeps a personal stake in the venture tied to its founding lineage.
The reshuffle also marks a shift in the investor mix. DSG Consumer Partners, an early backer of consumer brands, and Padukone's KA Enterprises are exiting or trimming positions, while Sauce.vc steps in. That kind of rotation is common in Indian D2C consumer companies as early investors seek liquidity and newer funds take their place on the register.
For Epigamia, the immediate change is governance and ownership rather than a fresh injection of growth capital. The company enters its next chapter under Gauba's leadership with Verlinvest and the Mirchandani family holding larger stakes, a configuration that gives its longest-standing shareholders greater sway over strategic direction.
