Origin Secures $20M to Expand AI Robotics for Construction
Origin has raised $20M in funding led by Accel and Zacua to enhance its robotic fleet and conduct large-scale pilots in the US and Europe.
Origin, a startup focused on developing AI-driven robots for interior construction, has successfully raised $20 million in a funding round co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures. The company, founded in 2025 by Yogesh Ghaturle, Ashish Daga, and Tushar Makkar, aims to revolutionize the construction industry with its innovative robotic solutions.
The funding round also saw participation from several notable investors, including Unilazer Ventures, Schema Ventures, and Z21, along with angel investors from companies such as Anduril, Skild AI, 1X, and Tesla. This infusion of capital will be pivotal for Origin as it looks to expand its fleet of robots and deploy its flagship OG-1 robot, which autonomously applies compound, sands, and primes walls across various construction tasks.
A significant portion of the new funding will be dedicated to conducting large-scale customer pilots in the United States and Europe. Origin has already established pilot projects with two of the largest drywall-finishing contractors in the US, and it plans to expand its operations to countries including Germany, Sweden, France, and Saudi Arabia.
With construction being one of the largest yet least automated industries globally, Origin is addressing a critical gap. As noted by Zacua Ventures, productivity in construction has stagnated over the past two decades, and the sector is facing a growing shortage of skilled labor. This makes the development of reliable construction robots essential, particularly in an industry characterized by constantly changing environments and unique project challenges.
By leveraging robotics, Origin aims to enhance productivity and efficiency in the construction process, ultimately contributing to meeting the rising infrastructure demands. The investment marks a significant step forward for the company as it seeks to position itself as a leader in construction automation.

About the Company
Keurig for healthy smoothies.
Origin built a kiosk for offices that lets employees buy pre-packed pods from a freezer, and make them into fresh juice smoothies silently in 30 seconds. It works similar to a Keurig coffee machine, but Origin thinks it can use its smoothie maker as a Trojan horse to sell more food and other items inside the 188,000 offices in the US. Right now it earns a 56% margin on the $2.99 pods, recoups the kiosk cost in 7 weeks, and now has $30,000 in monthly recurring revenue as it grows 50% weekly. Fellow juice maker startup Juicero has run into slow demand for its expensive machine and juice subscriptions. But Origin’s in-office commerce model and cheaper pods could have a different fate if the juice tastes right.
