CureMeAbroad Lands $1.1M Pre-seed to Scale Medical Tourism Platform
SteerX Ventures led the round, with AIRA also participating, as the India-based healthtech pushes into orthopaedics and oncology specialties.
CureMeAbroad, an India-based healthtech company, has raised $1.1 million in pre-seed funding led by SteerX Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on the healthcare sector. AIRA also participated in the round, which was announced on October 6, 2026.
Founded in 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad runs an AI-native platform that lets patients discover and compare hospitals worldwide, verify provider accreditations, get treatment cost estimates, book care, and receive support through their medical journey. The company's core proposition is connecting patients globally with cross-border healthcare services — a segment where trust, accreditation transparency and price clarity have historically been the hardest things for patients to verify on their own.
The new capital is earmarked for several specific pushes. CureMeAbroad plans to expand its network of accredited hospitals and enter new patient source markets. A portion of the funds will go toward strengthening its AI-powered technology and building out its operations and technology teams. The company also intends to expand into specialties including orthopaedics and oncology, and to explore launching physical experience centres in key international markets.
The orthopaedics and oncology expansion signals a move beyond the cosmetic, dental and fertility procedures that tend to dominate cross-border care listings, and into higher-acuity treatment categories where patients typically weigh provider credentials more heavily and journey support matters more. Physical experience centres, meanwhile, would add an offline layer to a business that has so far operated as a discovery and booking platform — a notable shift for a company still in its pre-seed stage.
SteerX Ventures' healthcare-sector focus aligns with the round's thesis, and AIRA's participation adds a second backer to the cap table at an early stage. The funding gives CureMeAbroad room to build out both its supply side — accredited hospitals — and its demand side, the patient source markets it now intends to enter.
For a company founded only in 2025, the pre-seed raise is a bet that the AI layer can do what directories and word-of-mouth referrals have long done imperfectly: match patients with accredited providers abroad, surface cost estimates up front, and hold their hand through the logistics of treatment in another country.
